(July 16, 2024) -- Oak Lodge Water Services (OLWS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Albert, P.E., as the authority’s new general manager. Albert had been serving as interim general manager since OLWS' former general manager, Sarah Jo Chaplen, retired in March. The permanent appointment was finalized at the authority’s July 9 board of directors meeting.

“Brad came to OLWS with excellent engineering and project management expertise.  Over the past two years, he has demonstrated leadership, strong general and financial management as well as strategic thinking.  The board is confident that Brad is the right person for the job, particularly in light of the large infrastructure projects and financial challenges facing the organization,” said Board Chair Susan Keil.

Albert has been at OLWS since 2022 as the authority’s public works director and district engineer. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Prior to joining OLWS, he held leadership positions at the City of Hillsboro and the City of Milwaukie.

“I am grateful for the confidence the board of directors has placed in me to lead this outstanding organization. As an authority, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer service to our community. I look forward to collaborating with our team and community members to ensure continued reliable water and wastewater services.”

OLWS provides drinking water, wastewater, and watershed protection services to approximately 28,400 people in Oak Grove, Jennings Lodge, and portions of Milwaukie and Gladstone. More information is available at OakLodgeWaterServices.org.
