Sanitary Sewer Overflow on January 27, 2024
(January 27, 2024) – OLWS staff responded to a sewage overflow at Lift Station #2 (1716 SE Oak Shore Ln) on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 9:00 AM that resulted in the release of sewage discharged into the Willamette River from a bypass outfall pipe.
Heavy rainfall in a short period of time this morning caused the pump station to overflow. Staff placed signs informing area residents about the spill in the vicinity of the incident. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has been notified.
As a precaution, people are asked to avoid contact with the water for at least two days due to the possibility of bacterial contamination.
