(January 13, 2021) — Last night heavy rains and power outages impacted the Oak Lodge Water Services District (District) sanitary sewer systems in several places which caused overflows to Forest Creek, Kellogg Creek, and the Willamette River. Overflows are infrequent but can occur during extreme weather. The overflows began on January 12, 2021 around 9:00 p.m. and staff worked through the night to clean lines and restore services.
During an overflow and for 48 hours afterwards, the public is advised to avoid contact with standing water, creeks, and the river because of potentially increased bacteria in the water. Staff has placed signs at the spill sites throughout the District to inform the public to avoid contact with the water.
